about the artist ::
Beverly has always been an
artistic creature and honed her crafting and creating skills in the realm of
textiles, although jewelrymaking occasionally found its way into her sewing
and costuming. When Beverly found herself working at a small,
family-owned bead store while finishing college, she launched wholeheartedly
into fine tuning her already existing skills and learning new ones with a
voracious appetite.
Within
a month, Beverly was made a manager at the store, and for the next year helped
keep up with the day-to-day running of the successful business. Because
of the enthusiasm with which her creations for the store and friends were
received, she decided to try a wider audience and finding her niche in the
wide, wide web (which is what you see here). Beverly continues to teach
jewelrymaking and beading to a wide range of individuals, and of course
continues to be inspired with ideas for her own pieces.
Beverly finds jewelrymaking a great deal of fun, and often uses it to
compliment her other hobby of sewing (her clothing and 'cosplay' costumes
can be seen at Faeriewings
Costuming). She enjoys all mediums, but is partial to
pearls, copper, and unique
pressed glass. Beverly considers her style to fall somewhere among the
words cute, funky, unique, artistic, simple, charming, fresh, magical, frugal.
Her artist's instinct and creative background allow her to create good
quality, not-too-expensive jewelry to compliment current fashion, but with a
classic, vintage flair. Because of this, almost every piece is
completely one-of-a-kind, the only one in existence. Beverly was even
more inspired when, during her last semester of college, she took a
metalsmithing course and was introduced to working with the raw materials
she'd come to love so much. The fruit of this seed is the new wordspell
signature line.
Beverly currently lives in Denver, Colorado with her makeup-artist roommate,
two cats, and wood floors. She continues to pursue metalsmithing and
selling her work through local venues, in addition to this website.
